Prof. Hatem Galal Said

Prof Hatem is a consultant in arthroscopic surgery of the hip, shoulder, and knee. Following his fellowship on Shoulder Arthroscopy in Birmingham, UK, in 2005, he developed the shoulder service in Assiut and Upper Egypt. Since then, he has operated on thousands of shoulder injury cases, ranging from Bankart, Biceps, and SLAP repairs to rotator cuff injuries. Prof Hatem began practicing hip arthroscopy in 2008 and completed a fellowship in Munich, Germany, in 2010. He has since become the leading hip arthroscopy surgeon in Egypt and the Middle East, treating cases of FAI (Femoroacetabular Impingement) and labral tears on a weekly basis. Prof Hatem enjoys teaching surgeons worldwide on shoulder and hip arthroscopy. He has held numerous international positions and published extensive research in the field of arthroscopy and trauma. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Arthroscopy Unit at Assiut University and is the Past Treasurer of SICOT (International Orthopedic Society).
