Prof. Robert Hierner

Professor Dr. Robert Hierner completed his graduation in Medicine from Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich/Germany in 1990. Prof. Dr. Robert Hierner received is medical training at world renown institutions at Munich/Germany, Lyon/France, Rochester/USA, Hannover/Germany, Glasgow/UK and Leuven/Belgium. Because of his outstanding achievements, he was awarded the “Young Plastic Surgeon Fellowship 1998 from the European Association of Plastic Surgery (EURAPS).
He was certified by the German Plastic Surgery Board in 1997, by the German Hand Surgery Board in 2000, and by the Belgian Oncology Surgery Board in 2004. He passed his medical thesis in Plastic Surgery in 1992 (summa cum laude) and his Ph.D. in Plastic Surgery in 1999. He was appointed Professor and Chair of Plastic Surgery in 2002. For more than 30 years, Prof. Dr Robert Hierner is at the forefront of the development of new techniques in the field of Plastic, Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery and Regenerative Medicine.
Due to a broad education in national and international top centres and many decades of experience, Plastic, Aesthetic, Reconstructive Surgery & Regenerative Medicine, as well as, Hand Surgery & Hand Medicine are carried out at the highest level.
Besides his clinical skills he is renown as an outstanding academic teacher as a Professor for Plastic Surgery and an editor of the five-volume standard textbook for Plastic Surgery in German, and the two-volume standard textbook of Hand Surgery in German, as well as several textbooks in English
